The Continuous Access Port consists of two movable Continuous Access Ports on a track system which allow the ports to slide independently back and forth along a horizontal track integrated into a barrier film. The barrier film mitigates the need for exhausting conditioned room air to the absolute minimum required by ANSI Z9.5-2010 standard and thus lowers facility energy costs. As side benefit, the Continuous Access Port also mitigates the release of fume hood contaminates into the laboratory from spill, splashes or energetic release.
The Continuous Access Port, attached to the bottom of the fume hood sash, gives the technician all of the lateral arm movement and mobility that they have in a standard fume hood with the sash open but can significantly reduce the amount of laboratory room air that must be exhausted thru the fume hood to meet OSHA/ANSI safety regulations.
SPECIFICATION
The Continuous Access Port retrofit kit consists of the aluminum frame with a zipper track RF welded to the barrier polymer film and one pair of mobile Fume Hood Energy Saver:
FEATURES AND BENEFITS:
The Continuous Access Port has a competitive advantage – it allows one to operate a fume hood as if the sash was always in a closed position. This results in the least amount of laboratory air that must be exhausted to meet OSHA guidelines and ANSI safety standard.
Physical Barrier
-
Reduces the amount of facility conditioned air that must be exhausted to meet safety standards
-
Lowers the laboratory carbon footprint with the reduction of fume hood operational energy resulting in a more ‘Sustainable’ laboratory
-
Increases the laboratory facility IAQ by improving fume hood containment to minimize fume hood contaminates from escaping into the facility reducing exposure to laboratory occupants from accidental spills, splashes and air dynamics within the laboratory
Mobile Ports
Attachment
-
Attaches to the bottom of the fume hood sash to enable one to load and unload the fume hood by lifting the Continuous Access Port/Sash together.
-
Side wings slide into position to give stability during fume hood operation.
